Cushman & Wakefield, the world’s largest privately-owned real estate services firm, has advised international footwear brand Clarks on two new stores in Istanbul, Turkey.
Clarks, which has appointed Cushman & Wakefield exclusively for its Turkish expansion, has agreed to take one store at the Mall of Istanbul and the other at Özdilek Park.
Mall of Istanbul, a 155,000 sq m development with 350 stores, is one of Turkey’s largest retail projects in recent years. It will showcase brands including Debenhams, H&M and Victoria’s Secret when it opens, along with Clarks’ 150 sq m store, on Friday.
Located in Istanbul’s central business district, the 40,000 sq m Özdilek Park is another brand new centre. Scheduled to open in September this year, the scheme will house 145 stores with retailers such Mango and H&M set to join Clarks and its 155 sq m outlet.
Cushman & Wakefield’s Istanbul-based retail team will be providing support to Clarks as it looks to open a total of at least 25 new stores in Turkey over the next four years.
Toğrul Gönden, Managing Partner of Cushman & Wakefield in Turkey, said: “We are on track to deliver six new stores for Clarks in a six-month period. The latest two stores to be added to Clarks’ Turkish business are located in simply two of the best retail locations in the whole country. When Mall of Istanbul opens this week and Özdilek Park later in the year, we anticipate Clarks will benefit from extremely high levels of footfall, and not just initially – these new schemes are expected see significant year-round visitor volumes.”
