Cushman & Wakefield appoints Andrew Groom to lead German Capital Markets Team

Global property adviser Cushman & Wakefield has hired Andrew Groom from JLL to lead its Capital Markets team in Germany. Andrew will join the firm as a Partner and will become a member of the German Board.

Andrew joins Cushman & Wakefield after 13 years at JLL where he was Head of the firm’s German Valuation & Transaction Advisory team. He has spent the past 22 years working in the commercial real estate investment arena in Germany and prior to JLL, was Director of Cross Border Investment at CEI Investment in Berlin/London and before that, worked in London, Munich & Berlin for commercial property advisers Drivers Jonas (now Deloitte Real Estate).

Andrew will work closely with Cushman & Wakefield’s capital markets experts in key German cities of Frankfurt, Munich, Berlin and Hamburg to grow the business and lead the push for a greater share of the German investment market.

As a key member of Cushman & Wakefield’s leading European investment team Andrew will also work closely with Jan Willem Bastijn, the firm’s Capital Markets head for EMEA and the 210 strong European team and with colleagues from APAC and the Americas, to ensure the firm is at the centre of international real estate capital flows.

In 2014, Cushman & Wakefield negotiated a number of major deals in Germany, including; the sale of the Mosse Centre in Berlin-Mitte to the Real I.S. BGV VI real estate investment fund ;the sale of Muratti Höfe to Schroders Investment Management GmbH; as well as advising Northstar on their acquisition of the SEB portfolio.
